Overview
Panes is published by Sebastiano Zane under the name Forcola. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Panes iOS app and its support website.
Panes does not require an account. Core game progress is stored on your device. The app uses Google services for advertising, consent, analytics, remote configuration and crash diagnostics. These services may process technical and usage information as described below.
Information handled by Panes
| Game data stored locally | Level progress, unfinished panes, elapsed time, settings, hints, daily streak and streak-freeze state. This is kept on your device using iOS storage and is not uploaded by Forcola. |
|---|---|
| Usage analytics | Puzzle identifiers, starts and completions, completion time, hint use, rejected-move reasons and the type of ad presented. Firebase may also collect standard app, device, session and installation information. |
| Advertising data | Google Mobile Ads may process IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device or app identifiers, ads viewed or selected, ad interactions, performance information and fraud-prevention signals. |
| Diagnostics | Crash reports, app state, device and operating-system information, and installation identifiers may be processed through Firebase Crashlytics and Google Mobile Ads to diagnose faults and improve reliability. |
| Consent information | Your advertising and privacy choices are processed and stored by Google's User Messaging Platform so that eligible ad requests respect those choices. |
| Local reminders | If you opt in, Panes asks iOS for notification permission and schedules a local streak reminder on your device. Forcola does not operate a push-notification server. |
Panes does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise GPS location or payment information. If you email support, Forcola receives your email address and the information you choose to include.
Advertising and analytics
Panes uses Google AdMob to show banner, interstitial and optional rewarded ads. Depending on your region and choices, Google and its approved advertising partners may use information to select, deliver, measure and protect ads, including to prevent fraud and abuse.
Where required, Panes asks for consent before requesting eligible advertising. If you do not consent to personalised ads, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads where available. Some technical information, such as IP address, can still be needed to deliver an ad and prevent abuse. Panes remains playable when ads cannot be requested.
Panes requests Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission when advertising becomes available. If you allow tracking, Google Mobile Ads may access Apple's advertising identifier and use device data to select or measure advertising across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you ask Panes not to track, iOS withholds that identifier and Panes remains fully playable; Google may still deliver non-personalised or limited ads where available.
Forcola does not sell personal information for money. Personalised advertising may nevertheless be treated as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some US state laws, and eligible users can opt out through the controls described below.
Your choices
- Privacy choices: open Panes, then go to Settings → Privacy choices. Where Google requires this control, you can review or withdraw your advertising consent.
- Tracking permission: choose “Ask App Not to Track” when iOS asks, or review Panes later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Rewarded ads: watching a rewarded ad is optional. The related hint or streak-freeze reward is only granted after the ad completes.
- Notifications: turn Daily streak reminder off in Panes settings, or change Panes notifications in iOS Settings.
- Timer, sound and haptics: these can be changed in Panes settings and are stored locally.
- Local progress: deleting Panes removes its locally stored game data unless iOS restores it from a device backup.
Retention and international processing
Local game information remains on your device until it is overwritten, reset, removed with the app or restored through an iOS backup. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain a support record, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.
Google and Apple retain information according to their own service policies and settings. Their services may process information in countries outside your own, using the safeguards described in their privacy documentation.
Children
Panes is a general-audience logic game and is not directed to children under 13. Forcola does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact Forcola so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, or to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising.
Use the in-app Privacy choices control for eligible advertising choices or email Forcola for other requests. Because Panes has no account and much of its information is pseudonymous or remains only on your device, Forcola may not be able to associate service-provider data with you without an appropriate app or installation identifier. Forcola may ask for information needed to verify and fulfil a request.
UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Other users may contact their local privacy regulator. Forcola will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
This website
The Forcola website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising scripts or contact forms. It is hosted using GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process basic network and request information as the hosting provider under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Panes, its service providers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing notice in the app.
